Be Prepared for an Emergency at TMI

For those in the 10 mile Emergency Planning Zone around Three Mile Island, the PA Department of Health will once again hold public potassium iodine (KI) distribution in Dauphin County. Having KI on hand is an emergency preparedness measure residents can take in the event of any future incident at Three Mile Island.

Residents in Steelton Borough are welcome to pick up their potassium iodine at the below time and location:

August 24, 2017 from 2pm-7pm

Middletown Boro Building located at 60 W Emaus St, Middletown
Hummelstown Fire Station located at 249-251 East Main St, Hummelstown

As always you may also get potassium anytime from the PA Dept of Health office located in Kline Plaza in Harrisburg or by calling 877-PA-Health

Steelton Borough Council presents a proclamation honoring the Islamic Society of Greater Harrisburg

Steelton Borough Council Vice President Maria Marcinko presented a proclamation honoring the Islamic Society of Greater Harrisburg for building bridges with neighbors in the community. The Islamic Society–which has been located in Steelton Borough for decades–held an open house last Saturday focused on reaching out to the Central Pennsylvania community. This event embodied Steelton’s historic role a community that fosters diversity and inclusion. Thank you to the Islamic Society of Greater Harrisburg for continuing its work in our town.
