On Thursday, Officers Thompson, Martin, and Minium of the Steelton Police Department visited students enrolled in the Steelton Youth in Action afterschool program. The officers helped students with homework, played sports and games, and distributed backpacks. The officers loved the playing freeze-tag, football, and other games with the students. This is part of the new community policing drive by the Steelton Borough Police to positively engage the community. The officers will be visiting SYIA students again on Wednesday, October 14th to teach them about “Stranger Danger” and safety-awareness when walking home from school.
