As part of ongoing efforts to improve Steelton’s downtown area, the Borough recently completed its Bollard Replacement Project on January 15, 2016. The project replaced 27 bollards at the Front and Locust Street areas that had been damaged or displaced due to vehicles crashing into them. The Borough is currently looking into the installation of surveillance cameras at Front and Locust Streets to record any vehicles that damage or displace a bollard without reporting the accident. The Borough requests that residents report any instances where a vehicle damages or displaces a bollard to the Borough Manager at 717-939-9842.
The Bollard Replacement Project was fully funded by a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) administered by the Dauphin County Office of Community and Economic Development.
