PUBLIC NOTICE: PROPOSED ORDINANCE AND PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given pursuant to 8 Pa.C.S. § 3301.1, 72 P.S. § 4725(a), and 72 P.S. § 4711-301 that Borough Council of Steelton, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, at its meeting on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, at 6:30 P.M., at the Frederick Douglas Municipal Building, 123 North Front Street, Steelton, PA 17113, or at a meeting held not less than 7 nor more than 60 days from advertisement of this notice, will hold a public hearing and consider adoption of an ordinance repealing Article IX, “Exemption from Taxes on New Improvements” (§§102-65 through 102-70), of Chapter 102, “Taxation,” of the Borough Code (Ordinance No. 2017-03), terminating the Borough’s tax exemption programs established under both the Local Economic Revitalization Tax Assistance Act (72 P.S. § 4722 et seq.) and the Improvement of Deteriorating Real Property or Areas Tax Exemption Act (72 P.S. § 4711-101 et seq.), and rescinding the deteriorated area designation. Properties previously granted exemptions under either program shall continue to receive such exemptions for the remainder of their applicable exemption periods.

At such hearing, all interested parties will be given an opportunity to be heard concerning the proposed rescission of the designation of the Borough as a deteriorated area and the repeal of the Borough’s LERTA program in its entirety.
