Biography
Natashia Ross was born and raised in York, PA, and moved to this area to attend Penn State Harrisburg, majoring in Applied Behavioral Sciences. She moved to Steelton in 2009 with her two children and wanted to give back to her community by performing community service and attending parent engagement meetings at Steelton-Highspire Elementary School. From her experience working with the school district, Ross ran and won a race for School Board Director of Steelton-Highspire School District. In 2018, Ross ran for Borough Council and won a spot to continue to help move Steelton forward into the future. In 2025, Ross was re-elected to Borough Council, and she served as the Vice President, as well as the Chair of the Finance and Neighborhood & Economic Development Committee. Ross also sat on various other committees and is a part of the Steelton Community Development Foundation. On August 19, 2026, the Borough Council unanimously appointed Ross as Mayor to fill the unexpired term after the resignation of the previous one. On a professional level, Ross has worked for the last 20-plus years with various Human Service programs in the Harrisburg area. She works to help people in poverty become self- sufficient by connecting them to resources and changing mindsets. Ross will continue the work that she set out to do with integrity and transparency.
