Last night, the Steelton community came together for the 75th Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony. Mayor Thomas F. Acri welcomed the crowd who enjoyed sing-along carols, comments from local and state officials, and the ceremonial lighting of the tree in front of Steelton Borough Hall. After the ceremony, community members headed to the Steelton Fire Department where kids were given a special gift from Santa and Mrs. Clause.
The Mayor, Borough Council, and staff would like to thank all of the community members who attended the event. Special thanks go out to Reverend Darryl Taylor, Senator Mike Folmer’s Office, Aubrey Yanzito (who attended on behalf of Senator Bob Casey, Jr.), Commissioner George Harwick III, Travis Water (who attended on behalf of Steelton-Highspire School District), The Community Band, St. John’s & Salem Lutheran Churches, New Jersualem AME Zion Church, The New Hope Living Baptist Church, Steelton Mennonite Church, Mt.
